Great American Insurance Group, based in Cincinnati, OH, is primarily engaged in the sale of specialty commercial products for businesses, and annuities and supplemental health insurance products. The Group’s property and casualty insurance operations are led by its flagship company Great American Insurance Company, founded in 1872.
Great American chose Progress Sonic ESB and Actional SOA management products as a SOA foundation for its Underwriters Desktop Application. In developing Web services to create insurance policies, Great American is using Actional tools for creating and enforcing SOA policy to provide rules and monitoring for what types of policies can be written in different states.
